Skills learned as a WVU Physics student that are most useful in your career?
The ability to analyze technical problems from all different viewpoints and come up with solutions that solve the technical problems. This ability was not derived from any particular physics coursed but more related with the logical scientific approach to problem solving. Over the years I have been issued over a dozen patents dealing with Plasma Displays and Stencils for printing for Surface Mount PCB assembly.
Reason for coming to WVU to study Physics?
Having recently graduated from Wheeling Jesuit University WVU was the natural choice. My class at Wheeling was the confounding class and WVU was just getting the Ph.D. program started.
Return visits to WVU as an alumni?
2007 was the first time I returned in about 15 years.
Most rewarding Physics course(s) taken?
I enjoyed Mathematical Physics, Solid State Physics and Quantum Mechanics most.
Favorite Physics professor(s)?
Research Advisor Dr. Pavlovic. He always encouraged a practical approach to research.
