Gregory Walsh

Graduate Research Assistant

Spolaor Group

Greg is an observational astronomer using multi-wavelength techniques to search for binary supermassive black holes and characterize their effects on galaxy evolution. He uses Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) to probe the smallest emission regions for direct searches of binaries, and a host of telescopes across the electromagnetic spectrum to analyze binary imprints on the smallest to galactic-scale environments. His work has strong multi-messenger implications for the low-frequency gravitational wave searches conducted by pulsar timing arrays, like NANOGrav.
