2024 Physics & Astronomy Demo Day

Join us for hands-on science at Physics and Astronomy Demo Day, a free public event for all ages on Saturday, May 11 (12PM - 3PM).

About the Event

Ever wanted to make ice cream using liquid nitrogen, or see how massive objects warp the fabric of space? You don’t want to miss Physics and Astronomy Demo Day!  

This event will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM on the Ground Floor of White Hall.

A wide variety of physics and astronomy demonstrations will be presented and explained to visitors. Several of the demos are interactive and include topics like spacetime and gravity, gravitational waves, angular momentum, electricity and magnetism, and many more. There will also be a station to make ice cream using liquid nitrogen! The event is led by members of the WVU Physics and Astronomy Graduate Student Organization (PAGSO).

About Remake Learning Days

Remake Learning Days Across America (RLDAA) is a celebration of innovative experiences and opportunities for youth to develop their sense of creativity, perseverance and curiosity. Remake Learning Days is a festival of events hosted by a variety of organizations, such as schools, museums, libraries, after school organizations, early child care centers, parks, universities, media centers, tech startups and more.  These events are designed to be hands-on, relevant and engaging educational experiences for youth of all ages (pre-K through high school) and their families, caregivers and educators.  The majority of events are free and open to kids of all ages.

Events are organized by different  learning themes such as: Arts, Maker, Outdoor Learning, Science, Technology and Youth Voice. In addition, there are Professional Development sessions for school, out-of-school, child care and non-traditional educators. Families, youth and educators can  search events by date/time, location, learning theme, age group (pre-K through high school) and more.

RLDAA is presented by Remake Learning.
