Disheng Chen

Ph.D., 2017; Principal Investigator, Optical Department at Multi-Field Low Temperature Technology (Beijing) Co., LTD.

"The education at WVU prepared me with the spirit of questioning, the value of sharing and collaboration, and the methodologies and skills of conducting scientific research. All these truly underpin my later academic and industrial career in all aspects."

Dr. Disheng Chen obtained his Ph.D. degree in condensed matter physics in 2017 by studying the resonance fluorescence from self-assembled semiconductor quantum dots following Prof. Edward Flagg at WVU.

Afterwards, he joined Dr. Ding Fei's group at IFW Dresden in Germany as a postdoc to study the spin properties of nanohole filling GaAs/AlGaAs semiconductor quantum dots. From 2018 to 2022, he was a research fellow in Prof. Weibo Gao’s quantum photonics group at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, focusing on spin dynamics of quantum emitters in wide band-gap materials and developing spin–photon interface for quantum network applications.

Currently, Dr. Chen is the PI at Multi-field Low Temperature Technology (Beijing) Co., LTD., responsible for developing optical measurement systems of various physical parameters and automations of optical systems.
