Jessica Sydnor

Graduate Research Assistant

Spolaor Group

Jessica works in both the FRB (fast radio burst) and black hole world. She focuses on multi-wavelength follow-ups of FRBs that can help provide evidence for or against many progenitor theories. Specifically she has done x-ray follow-up observations as well as deep radio imaging of FRBs. She is also currently working on creating BOBcat, Black holes Orbiting Black holes CATalog, which will be a database of supermassive black hole binary candidates. This public-use database will combine all observational and theoretical information about candidates currently found in the literature into one easily accessible catalog. Her goal specifically with BOBcat is to use the electromagnetic information about a candidate to create a targeted continuous gravitational wave search within NANOGrav's dataset.
