Dr. Joonhee Lee has joined the Department of Physics and Astronomy
Joonhee Lee
Dr. Joonhee Lee received his BS degree in Physics Education and Ph.D. in Physics from Seoul National University in South Korea, focusing on efficient GaN LED integrated with micro and nanophotonic structures. He conducted his postdoctoral work at Brown University, where he developed novel optoelectronic microprobes for simultaneous neural stimulation and recording. In the Fall of 2017, Dr. Lee joined the Physics Department at WVU and the Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute. This institute is affiliated with West Virginia University and includes several University-wide multidisciplinary research groups studying memory and Alzheimer's disease, addiction, stroke, cognitive neuroscience, sensory neuroscience, brain health and neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Lee is continuing his multidisciplinary research on neurophotonic methods and brain-implantable optoelectronic microdevices for neural interface with active collaboration throughout the campus.
