The Physics and Astronomy Graduate Student Organization (PAGSO) and the WVU Department of Physics and Astronomy will host The Magic of Physics Children's Show at 6:00 PM on April 25 in White Hall B51.

About the Event

The first 50 children in attendance will receive a science gift bag, with more prizes throughout the show for the audience!

At this event, physics and astronomy graduate students will illustrate a variety of physics and astronomy phenomena at an age-appropriate level using demonstrations to promote an interest in science. Topics include simple mechanics, projectile motion, electricity and magnetism, angular momentum, inertia, and waves and diffraction.

This event is free and open to the public of all ages! Reservations are required. Tickets are available via our friends at the WVU Planetarium and Observatory.

Planning Your Visit

  • White Hall is located on the Downtown Campus of West Virginia University at 135 Willey Street. The event will be hosted in the building's annex, located directly across the street from the Lutheran Campus Ministry along University Avenue.
  • For information about parking on the WVU Downtown Campus, visit WVU Transportation & Parking or the Morgantown Parking Authority.
  • Please be aware that this show includes loud demonstrations that may be overwhelming for those with sensory sensitivities.
  • For the purpose of creating promotional materials and maintaining event archives, photographers will be present. Please be advised that photographs will be taken, with the primary subject being the demonstrations.
  • This event is ticketed, although admission is free. Reserve your seat!
