Lorimer, McLaughlin named Distinguished West Virginians by Gov. Justice

Gov. Jim Justice visited White Hall on Monday, June 24 to present Duncan Lorimer, a 2024 Fellow of the Royal Society, and Maura McLaughlina new member of the National Academy of Sciences, with Distinguished West Virginian awards.

Lorimer and McLaughlin, internationally renowned astrophysicists and professors in physics and astronomy in the Eberly College Department of Physics and Astronomy, are also recipients of the 2023 Shaw Prize,  the ‘Nobel of the East.’
