Evan's research is in transient radio sources, particularly sporadically emitting pulsars called Rotating Radio Transients (RRATs). He uses observations from a variety of radio telescopes to follow up newly discovered sources and develop long-term timing solutions to characterize their rotational motion. He also studies the single-pulse emission properties of these sources and how they change over time to better understand the physical processes that cause RRATs to emit so infrequently.
