Leonel Sanchez Torres
Graduate Student
Leonel earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Mount Union in May 2025, with minors in Mathematics, Spanish, and Data Science and Analytics.
His research centers on the application of machine learning to computational physics. As part of the Research Experience for Undergraduates program at the University of Toledo, Leonel worked under Dr. Richard Irving to develop and train neural networks for multielectron atomic modeling, gaining hands-on experience with high-performance computing environments, including Rocky Linux and Fortran90.
