Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity

The Department of Physics and Astronomy strives to foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for its faculty, staff, and students. It is critically important that each of us consciously works to make our department more welcoming to and supportive of every student and colleague. Disparaging personal remarks about a student or a colleague simply have no place in this department, this institution, or this profession.

Various activities are sponsored by the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, providing excellent opportunities for learning and growth. A graduate student is always included on the Committee for the purpose of representation.
